When you take up a new hobby it is always tempting to splash out on the most expensive equipment, and metal detectors can be pricey. Don't worry if you can't afford the top of the range model of metal detector. In fact, it is probably a better idea to hire a couple of different metal detectors when you start out, so you can get a feel for how the different machines work. There is no point is splashing out the extra cash for bells and whistles you simply won't ever use.
